Nomad Embassy is a sound system or modular P.A. following influences from the 50’s allied to new sound reinforcement engineering. It is also a collective of artists, playing vinyl & digital, Roots, Steppers and Dub.
The Sound System Culture needs to be lived to be understood. It is a Sonic Dominance or an “acoustic space”. It is a unique and profound culture, and an equally impressive and deep way of sharing and participating in a musical experience.
It is toward this direction that we organise the first Dub Festival, in Portugal: the HIM DUB Festival. A festival dedicated to the sound system, workshops, lectures, well being, education and art.
Nomad Embassy Sound System has played in different Festivals such as, HIM DUB, Waking Life, Forest Soul Gathering, Skanking Farmers, Mimo, International Highland Festival, Humanist and in different venues such as Village Underground Lisboa, but also in Galicia (Spain).
Nomad Embassy Sound System also hosted international artists like Aba Shanti I, Ashanti Selah & Junior Roy, Agobun, Amoul Bayi records with Saah Karim & Galas, Blakamix, Channel One, Dub Judah, Earl Gateshead, Empress Shema, Gussie P, Higher Meditation, I Grade Dub & Micah Shemaiah, Ital Soup & Danman, Indica Dub & Joseph Lallibela, Jah Youth Roots Ambassador & Prince Livijah, Jerry Lionz, Kibir La Almak, Moa Ambessa, Nick Manasseh, Roberto Sanchez & Benjamin, Sista Habesha & Arkaingelle, Tribe 84 records, Wise Rockers, Word Sound & Power, Young Warrior, Zulu Vibes, 10 000 Lions, 48 Roots...
